About Us
Foxwood Farm Performance Horse Stud was established by owners Kevin and Roxanne Balchin in 1994.
Initially they bred Cleveland Bay Sporthorses including Foxwood Flaunt (competition name Sarnia Park Flaunt) who became a top World Cup Showjumper with Neil Ozanne.
The breeding program then progressed to using imported semen from the German stallions Weltmeyer, Wenzel and Democrat which produced several successful dressage horses over the years, including Diplomat who is currently competing at Medium Level with Denise Barker.
In between breeding horses and having her own two boys, Cody and Nick, Roxanne competed with her own much loved Warmblood gelding Anatol (by Aramis).
In September 1997 work was completed on the indoor arena and stables and the agistment centre was opened.
The quality of the arena is equivalent to any in Australia and it is in strong demand for schools and displays.
Clemens Dierks, Andrew McClean, Dominie Morgan and Christopher Bartle all held regular clinics at the centre.
In February 2003 Foxwood Farm opened its riding school, providing new and experienced riders with a safe and fun place to ride.
Qualified staff provide students with informative lessons designed to keep any level of rider interested and progressing to new levels.
Currently agistment and lessons are still in huge demand and although the riding school often takes priority in the arena there is still a big demand for the hire of the facilities. Coming clinics include western riders, mini ponies, harness and dressage lessons.
Roxanne and Kevin's son Nick is following in their horsey footsteps and is successfully competing in western on Winderdeen Cee A Passer while older son Cody prefers horsepower of a different kind (things with engines or motors!).
Meanwhile Roxanne and Kevin are now breeding coloured warmbloods and have a number of exciting young stock coming along.
